German Mittelstand Breakfast at handz.on: Digital Sovereignty – Who Owns the Data?

On December 4th, handz.on will host the next German Mittelstand Breakfast – this time on a highly topical subject:
Digital sovereignty and the question of genuine data sovereignty.

While public administrations and companies increasingly rely on international software solutions, the desire for greater digital independence is growing in Europe. At the Breakfast we want to talk about exactly that:
How do we achieve digital self-determination?
What does sovereignty really mean?
And how can companies and the Mittelstand shape their digital future in a sovereign, secure and self-confident way?

Strong input from selected experts

Taking part:

  • Carsten J. Pinnow – Digital strategist & publicist

  • Bernhard Huter – Operator of the Internet exchange node Süd MuCon-X

  • Nico Grove – Founding board member, Di4 e.V.

  • Dr. Gerald Bauer – Director AI Consulting, handz.on

Together they will look at the role that data sovereignty, cloud structures and European ecosystems play today – and how Bavaria and the Mittelstand can take an active, shaping role.

Moderation

  • Britta Weber (handz.on)

  • Werner Theiner (German Mittelstand)

The Breakfast stands for open exchange, a clear stance and the desire not just to use digitalisation, but to actively shape it.
